About – Matt Hall Designs

Welcome to the online home of Matt Hall Designs.

Since graduating from the Theatre Arts Technical Production program at Humber College in 2024, I have been a freelance designer and technician in the Toronto theatre industry. I also volunteer in a number of roles at the Curtain Club Theatre in Richmond Hill.

This website aims to showcase some of my work in the field of set design and scenic painting so check out my portfolio and some of the shows I have worked on. I also take on other technical and theatre-related projects.

Some of my recent projects include:

Set design for “Escape Humber” at the Humber College Lakeshore campus, a space-themed escape room set within the Nebula Dawn space capsule.
Technical Direction for the annual Utility Contractors Association conference at the JW Marriott in Muskoka
Load in and build of risers and audience seating for the new Tapestry Opera/Nightwood Theatre in Toronto
Re-upholstery of audience seating for Outside the March’s production of Rainbow on Mars.
